Mirabelle is a woman trapped in a deplorable engagement. Her family only wants what is best for her, and she knows that. 
But James Kingston is not good for her.
She knows their marriage is eminent, but his abuse is a constant and has eaten away Mirabelle's complacency. She plans an escape, but the result of her decision is not one that her or Kingston would have expected.

This is a short story I wrote as a tribute to my long-standing love of mermaids and sirens. I hope you enjoy!All Rights Reserved
