A polyglot, Jeanne Marie Martin grew up with two treasures: her family's relic of the true cross and her family book store. As Nazi Germany invaded her beloved Paris, they began to burn the books that she held so dear. Left with no alternative to fight back, Jeanne hid the treasures underneath the bookstore, but more importantly, she smuggled people underneath the bookstore. Amidst the horrors of the Second World War, Jeanne fought back until she was forced to flee to America to help the allies fight Nazi Germany.
