The Roses of Elitsi

Joanna Fitzgerald had never imagined she would ever meet an Elitsi in the flesh.
Living as a humble hunter's daughter on the outskirts of the human colony known as Stephensford, the young woman fights for every second with her family. But now that her father has taken ill, and the cold bitter winds of wendru are blowing in, Joanna is left with an intimidating prospect; find a way to feed her family through wendru, or they'll starve to death.
Before she can come up with a plan, Joanna stumbles upon a strange humanoid in the woods. Identifying himself as an Elitsi, the strange and alien race living in the floating castle called Whealingport, the man offers to help Joanna in return for a favor. Her interaction with this alleged Elitsi leads to the uncovering of a side of the world she hadn't seen before; the strange and magical world of the Elitsi.
