Valerie Clark, a 23 year old woman, moves back to Hurricane in Utah, after her mother and father separate. She lives with her father and her 10 year old younger sister, Emma. She has a mechanical engineering degree and she is looking for a job currently. 

She visits the beloved Fredbear's Diner and immediately falls in love with it, wishing she had something like that when she was kid. Her father is best friends with one of the co-owners, Henry Emily. Henry offers Valerie a job with the animatronics but once she meets William Afton, she is very skeptical of him and the place.
