On that night, the young 17 year old driver was forced to work for a street gang and perform a hit and run mission. It wasn't his first nor will it was his last, but on this night, the latter seems to be plausible. The mission took place where his girlfriend was working at and the fear of losing her by accident was bearing down on the young teen.
He has to make a choice during the entire course of the operation on whether to betray the gang or simple let fate do its work in deciding it. After all, he would be punished brutally if he disobeys.

[COMPLETED] "Shoot," Joey mumbles, letting out a string of profanities under his breath. He looks at me and I subtly gesture with my head to the second tunnel. He glances at it and immediately we are on the same page. His jaw sets and he looks at the group.
