Some Hearts Just Get Lucky Sometimes

After her mother’s death at the end of junior year, Renee decided to do whatever it took to become popular, in order to make her mother happy, wherever she was.
Fast-forward to the first day of senior year. Renee is now at the top of the food chain with girls she can barely stand and friendly jocks who get a little too friendly most of the time. The only person she can trust in a sea of backstabbing, deceit, and bitchyness is her best friend Naomi, who is the only one who knows the real Renee as opposed to the shallow bitchy shell she is around the "populars." Her plan for senior year is simple: to become Queen Bee. And then she meets Nico.
Nico just wants out. He and his band are on the rise and he knows that if they get the opportunity, they could make it, big. He could care less about his last year of school, until he gets paired with Renee for a history project that both their grades depend on. Renee, who has turned from a normal girl he barely ever noticed before to practically ruler of the school, who in the course of a couple months has become totally drop-dead gorgeous, who looks and acts like a total B with an itch but treats him, and his music, with the respect no one ever has.
Throw in a mental best friend, a crazy jealous ex, wild parties galore, a malicious has-been, and maybe even love,and this senior year is not going according to anyone's plans.
