Luke Carrington is a 21 year old quarterback for the Harvard Bulldogs. He is in his junior year of college with dreams of being an orthopedic doctor for an NFL team if he is not drafted to the NFL after graduation. But on his first day of his junior year he meets Clara Oswald a freshman who is but 19 years old. Clara is wanting to be a surgeon. Now don't ask her what her specialty will be, because she isn't so sure herself. They meet and sparks fly at least for Luke. Clara finds him arrogant, infuriating, and insufferable. Now do those feelings for Luke stem from a deep seeded attraction or is he just that big of an ass? Come along their journey to find out. Will Luke finally let himself feel again? Or will Clara reject him at every turn?

His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
