In a continent at war, Wyvengard, the Kingdom of the West, is thrown into chaos after an attack from its Southern opponent. Within this very kingdom, four unknowing chosen ones are brought together by fate's hands amidst a world of corruption and darkness. Aleksandra Bane, Dareon Hallow, Lucan Worshire, and Atlanta believe their lives to be already shaken by circumstance, but then the return of the Dragons sends them into foreign ground as a long foreseen quest becomes their purpose.
Reluctant and confused, they begin to follow the orders of their respective Dragons while they struggle to be at ease with one another. Their unwillingness is only weakened as they find themselves exposed to the worst in their very peers and foes, forcing them to tread the path paved for them, and making them discover things about their world that had been hidden for a long time.
It is their legendary quest: Save the world by freeing the very same Dragons that were imprisoned, postponing-if not completely ridding themselves of- the end of the world, started by an unknown darkness that has taken root in humanity's blood and shows itself in the destructive actions humans commit.
