Blurb:
Sometimes, happily-ever-after is only the beginning of the story...
Hohenzern is a kingdom at the peak of its power, respected by its neighbours, and feared by its enemies, rich, stable and ruled over by a powerful aristocracy who live lives of fabulous luxury. It is into this decadent world that the young Cordelia is thrust. Rescued from her abusive step-mother and sisters by the Countess Engless, a mysterious spymaster claiming to be her Godmother, feted and loved by the people as their beloved Cinderella, and married to the handsome and brave Crown-prince Dietrich, it seems that Cordelia can finally put the nightmare of her former life behind her.
And yet not is all as it seems in mighty Hohenzern. Beneath the surface the country is a tinderbox of discontent and resentment, teetering on the edge of bloody revolution. While the poorest people struggle simply to survive under the oppression of the privileged classes, others question the divine right of the aristocracy to rule over them, plotting their violent downfall. Even amongst the royal family powerful forces scheme to overthrow the paranoid and repressive rule of the king, with all sides viewing the beloved Cinderella as an obstacle to their success, an obstacle that needs to be removed.

It's the story of a damaged girl propelled from obscurity into fame, wealth and terrible danger, and also the lives and passions of those who seek her downfall. A unique blend of historically-influenced fiction, political thriller, and classic romantic fairytale, this story takes the reader through a world rich in drama and action; a world where each character is both a hero and villain, driven by their principles, dreams, and loves; a journey to the darker side of happily-ever-after.

****This is book three in the Royally Series. You MUST read book one (Royally Sheltered) and book two (Royally Uncovered) FIRST before reading this. Spoilers will be in this description.**** After the tragic death of her sister, Catherine Carter is seeking revenge. Newly engaged to the Prince and heir to the throne of Alumbridge, she's ready to steal the crown and take over as ruler of the country. However, that comes with a few setbacks. While her prince is technically heir to the throne, the only way for them to accomplish nearly everything they want to is to eliminate members of the monarchy who would rebel against them and their agenda permanently. Which of course, is Catherine's new objective even if that wasn't the case. Catherine, once against violence, holds no mercy for those in power anymore. Not after Charlotte. So it's simple: Start a rebellion, murder a few people, and take the kingdom.... right? Well, not really. After the events of the last book, Catherine's group is in shambles. Almost everyone is at odds with each other, and other people in Catherine's life aren't making this transition period easy. Without a unified group, this rebellion goes nowhere, and Catherine knows this. In order to get anywhere near the crown she needs to unify her group, get her message out there to others, somehow train her and the group well enough to withstand battle, somehow help her prince step into the role he was born for, deal with familial conflicts, and of course somehow find a way to hold everything together despite being in the deepest stages of grief. Catherine is at a very sticky point. She either has to rise to the occasion and her title or end up meeting the same fate as her sister.

The secret seemed to be etched across my face, the words "traitor" branded on my forehead. I wondered how everyone would feel if they knew what I'd just done, if they knew the treason and danger I'd just committed myself too. If they knew that the helpless girl in the pink dress was something more than a background character. ... It's 1776, and the Revolutionary War is in full swing. Everyday men fight and die for their country on the battlefield, and people grow poorer and poorer everyday as King George continues to tax the colonies. But while civilians drop like flies, nineteen year old Rose and her family are safe in England and as close as ever to King George and his obnoxious daughter Princess Sophia. Rose has a life that one would dream of; endless money and luxury, marriage offerings from every suitor in town, and the privilege of having the royal family in the palm of her hand. Except there's one flaw to Rose's perfect life: she hates it. While everyone else is jealous of Rose's wealth and luck, all Rose wants is to return to her hometown Virginia and get away from Princess Sophia and her minions. But then Rose meets Fiona. She's leader of the Shadow Group, a group of overlooked woman who sneak information from the British and send it to the colonies. Desperate to escape her living nightmare, Rose joins and her luck starts to change. Soon she's secretly attending meetings and flirting information out of her chosen suitor to help her hometown; until the ultimate betrayal tears the group apart. Will Rose make it out of Britain and live the life she's always wanted or to persevere her family's reputation? Or will she crumble under the King's careful thumb and break free forever? It's time Britain realized that it's not just the colonies ready for a rebellion. COMPLETED

Book One. It's a strange, even mad world indeed. A world where magic once long ago filled the air, and was felt within everything, until humanity explored it's potential for power, destruction, and war. And with it came the true nature of it: Chaos, the source of magic. It nearly ripped apart creation, and thus, some legendary hero took sealed it away to protect the creation from destruction- Adaygue, Great Mother to everyone. She became the deity to protect magic, and her followers called herself "Children of Adaygue". 3135 years later, after countless of wars, magic flickers and loses its meaning. But the people "blessed by Adaygue" face segregation, racism, and exploitation from the countries they live in. The story revolves around a group of people from all over the world: Madleine and Marik Winterfeldt, siblings by choice and Gene, a young noble living in the old Holy Empire of German Nation, a nation riddled with magical infested rifts as literal scars of war, and in continuesly danger of being at war again with it's powerful neigbour, The Holy French Empire of the Sun. On the other side of the planet, in the United Kingdom of America, magic abled people have more possibility to work with their "blessing", if it is viewed more useful. This means to fight against giant beasts from faultlines, that have strange connections to rifts. There is a band of people quite successful with it and one in particular is celebrated like a popstar: Hades, (self-declared) God of the Underworld, trying to survive a world where the only worth a person like him is how much money he generates for the large companies called "guilds". It's a world ruled by chaos. A mad world indeed.

If you haven't read that, spoilers will be in this description.*** Catherine Carter has done what no one, including her, thought she would be able to do. She's gotten past a lot of her anxiety issues, made some friends, fallen in love, and has been named the top student of the Royal Academy. She's the first in line to become the next queen of Alumbridge, and be married to the Prince. Except, the Prince and her have had a falling out because of the secrets he's hidden from her. While they had originally fallen in love, Catherine can't tell if any of the actions or words of affirmation have been real. And with him being in on the protest she started against his establishment, she's feeling like she's been betrayed. Four months later, the Academy is opening back up, and Catherine is as numb and emotional as she's ever been. She feels eager to go back to continue her protest and see her friends, but she's also scared to go back and face the Prince who she still has overwhelming feelings towards. As antagonistic forces loom in the distance, and Catherine's protest gets closer and closer to becoming an event, Catherine has to confront everything that she's come to know and believe so far. She has to confront both the past actions and past emotions that she's been putting off dealing with for the past few months. She has to figure out a way to work with the Prince, who she'd rather not see ever again, and deal with the revelations regarding him. But most of all, Catherine has to decide if she wants to continue on her current life path, or make a decision that will change the trajectory of her life forever.
