{ snap, shatter, and howl pt. ii: being the sequel to mirror shards } Four months on from the Mandikhor attacks, Sydney Herondale is sure she's done. She's fallen in love (with Matthew Fairchild), she's starting to heal, both literally and metaphorically, from the wounds dealt to her in Romania during her travel year, she's got a flat in the City and with the mystery of her grandfather's identity solved, her research project is done and she can rest now. It's over. Or so she tells herself. You see, Sydney is magic. First that blinding rage when she goes into battle, then her strange ability to go ignored when she doesn't want people looking, and now, suddenly, she's starting to see magic, the ebb and flow and current of it like brushstrokes on Van Gogh's canvas. And if her grandfather's whispered, cryptic words are right, somehow all of these are meant to meld together to make...what? Well, she'd better find out, if she wants to make sure the magic is hers to control and hers alone. Not, of course, that anyone's making that easy.

SEQUEL TO CITY OF SECRETS It has been three months since Ember Fairose defeated Jacob Ashwright, and the Shadow World has been lulled into a certain sense of peace, or so it seems. In the New York Institute, Ember is leading the seemingly perfect life-she is raising her ten month-old daughter alongside her fiancé, Jonathan Morgenstern, has her loyal parabatai, Isabelle Lightwood, standing by her side, and has the help and love of all of her friends and family, not to mention that everyone in the Shadow World seems to know her name and face. Ember is presented with new chances and opportunities, but finds herself feeling unsure of the ideas of the future everyone is creating for her. To make matters worse, a familiar evil emerges from the shadows, stronger than ever, calling Ember back to the battlefield. The hope of finally achieving peace in the Shadow World shatters, as does Ember's hopes of living a simple, uncomplicated life with her family. Suddenly the perfect life doesn't seem perfect anymore. Tensions appear in places she never thought possible when a person from Jonathan's past makes an unwelcome reappearance, shaking them to the core with a surprising revelation, and suddenly she finds herself questioning the only thing she never thought she would ever have doubts about. It's bad enough to live with secrets, but when shadows are added to the mix, darkness always follows, and, well- Facilis descensus averno. Yes, the descent into hell is easy, and if there's anything Ember Fairose has learned in the Shadow World, it's that we are all so much lovelier when we fall. REVOLVING MIRRORS, the first of a 4 part mini-novel series. REVOLVING MIRRORS opens with the main character, Tatum Blackwood, delving into her diary searching for her identity through God and her physical appearance. Not being able to find either one, Tatum decides to meet with her therapist, Dr. Codwell, whom she hasn't seen in 12 years, since her mother's death. During her brief but intense session with Dr. Codwell, Tay revisited a relationship that ended with the murder of her affaired lover and shortly after an obvious confession, but not even scratching the surface of what was underneath her pain. After deciding to see her therapist, she needed a good dose of friend therapy. Unfortunately, Tatum still wasn't ready to discuss her real issues, a Black woman with Googled diagnosed anorexia and newly added schizophrenia. So, she decided to do what she always does, divert the conversation to something else. This something was Kurt and Addison. Ending the first volume the same way it began, Tatum finds herself in her diary still confused and running from what was truly troubling her... Him. It was him. Not Addison. Nor Kurt. It was him, and the uncertainty of what truly happened. Was he acting innocently or natively? Could it have been jealousy? Or maybe what was once sweet to him turned bitter. Deciding to finally find out the truth, she grabbed her favorite wand, her strongest crystal, and hurried to see the High Priestess Ade-Ifatayo. Deep down Tatum knew what this divination would show, and that she knew she would have to walk through the door of spirit, into the darkness. Where there are no rules except one, unyielding chaos.

After having her Runes removed at eighteen, she goes on and tries to live the life she's craved. A life free of danger, free of demons and free of anything that has to do with the Shadow World. But, as always, her past catches up with her in the form of an old friend with golden eyes and golden hair. After saving her life from an unexpected demon attack, he delivers a frightening message to her. A message that would change her future and the path she's taken. She was once a strong fighter, feared by some and respected by most. Now, she must regain the edge she once had in order to save humanity and people of her kind. With help from trusted allies, she rejoins the Nephilim's temporarily in order to stop Aspen Wolf, a powerful Warlock with the will of destroying all that stands between him and taking over Idris. Being the only one left of her kind, the only Craftsmen that could be found, she knows that no matter how badly she wanted a normal life, she'll never have one.
