Franz Eisenberg and Emelia Lyons have been friends since they both first enrolled in ZPA. However, Franz-a red wolf-doesn't fit in very well with most, because of a family curse-which came from his grandfather making a pact with devil to save Franz's mother from dying when she got sick with a deadly virus just before Franz was born. While this gave Franz and his mother immunity to sickness, it also carried a deadly side effect: They sometimes get uncontrollable rages in which they blindly attack others or break things. Emelia is an avian-a bird shapeshifter-that is a close friend of Franz's. Her family and Franz's have been friends for a long while. Another student, Ella Lexing, a lynx, is the most antisocial of her classmates, and sometimes refuses to talk to others. She's a friend of Emelia, and Franz. She isn't very open with most of her past, and has many unexplained things that many of her friends question. Much of her secrecy with her past is due to her diagnosis of having severe PTSD, though her mother called it 'shell shock' (This is generally what PTSD was known as during WW1 & 2, and some people still call PTSD that.).

Most of this story will be from Ella's POV and the rest will be third person following either Ella or Franz.
