Oliver was the new boy in town, quickly becoming friends with the strange Michael. Rumors swirled about Michael-some believed he had "slender sickness" after vanishing into the forest for three months, only to return with no explanation. Oliver and Michael grew close, but Michael's feelings ran deeper than friendship. The town joked he had a "killer crush" on Oliver, which seemed true given his history with several boys: Noah, Jon, Bob, Cam, and Stan, all of whom mysteriously disappeared. People began to whisper that Michael was a murderer, though it wasn't clear if the rumors were entirely true. His past remained a dark mystery, leaving the town torn between fear and fascination.
