The story is set in Ancient Rome, in the year 53 A.D. 
Emperor Tiberius Claudius Nero, or Claudius, is the 4th emperor of Rome and is in his twelfth year in power when the story begins.
Slowly but surely, the reader will see the demise of Claudius and the rise of his infamous son, Emperor Nero. 
Please note that this story is historical fiction, and so some details are fictional. Many, if not most, of the characters used in this tale were  existing people at one point in history, though. 
If you're a fan of suspense, historical fiction, or even an admirer of the Roman Empire, this story should prove interesting.
