Ichigo died long before the Grand Fisher attacked his mother. As a spirit, he grows up in Rukongai, in an unknown district called Fugai. He attracts the attention of Shinji and most of the would-be-vizards when he is attacked by an adjuda. Shortly after becoming a Shinigami Academy student, he finds friends with two brothers: Aki (Autumn) and Katsu (victory). The trio join a squad and get caught up in the action as a dangerous enemy appears in the horizon.
