He replied, choosing to ignore the feeling of anxiety at the realisation that was the most he had talked throughout their meeting. 'Alright mate. Oh, and please call me Phil. Sir makes me sound older than I actually am.' OR A fluff to angst to fluff adoption AU where Wilbur Soot gets adopted into the SBI household just before his 18th birthday after years in the foster system. Now, he must learn how to trust his newfound family and find that it's okay to be dependent on others. But after so many years of only relying on only himself, Wilbur struggles to do that. Wilbur's eyes snapped open at the second voice, startled so much that he almost jumped out of the hybrid's arms. He gradually relaxed again once he examined the taller figure, his green and white bucket hat contrasting the solid grey of his wings. 'Phil, you scared him!' The teen exclaimed, holding him tighter as the realisation that Wilbur finally knew his name settled in. 'Tommy, he has a name tag...' 'I know? His name is Soot apparently.' -- Wilbur is a cat hybrid living as a street cat who is adopted by the rest of SBI. Problem is, they think he's only a cat and Wilbur thinks that's all them want him as.
