I heard singing coming from my left. My eyes followed the noise, and I was surprised by the bright light that greeted me. A man in white held out his hand towards me. "It's your time," he told me. I glanced back at Daniel, tears streaming down his face. "No," he cried. "Sarah, you can't leave me! I need you!" His voice lowered until it was barely above a whisper. "I love you. Don't go." I turned back to the light. "The time has come," the man told me, "But it's also your choice." I wanted nothing more than to join him. My feet began to carry me towards the light. Just before I stepped into it, I looked back. I saw Daniel crying at my bedside, mourning my death. As soon as I saw that, I knew what I had to do. I couldn't leave him. And then I realized it; I loved him, too. I walked back and sat down in the bed. The man smiled and nodded his head slightly. "Are you sure," he asked. "Once you take your first breath, you can't change your mind." I didn't even have to think about my answer. "I'm sure," I said as I sat down on the bed. The man stepped back into the light without another word, leaving me to wonder what was going to happen next...
