Shoto was doing his job, slaying demons. Until he was assigned a target that would make him have a chance against the demon that burned his village to the grounds and killed his best friend, Ether. His target was Vox Akuma, The Voice Demon.

Vox has a dream of a 7 year old boy in his room with someone with him talking and singing him to sleep. He suddenly wakes up, figuring out what he saw is just a dream or a flashback memory.
