As the new year begins, change is in the air.

A wilding war mage enters as shield to Kaulu, representatives have been replaced, and the coven reformed per the council's instructions.

Naena arrives at Amos to discover her father has already begun machinations to involve himself in every aspect of her life. Jasor orders her placed in one of the coveted shield dorm rooms which have been closed for nearly two decades to prevent certain time-honoured traditions.

Trathor has been renewed and told in no uncertain terms that there will not be a fourth renewal.

And then there's the matter of the second-year student with no memory of the first. A young man with mismatched eyes, the mirror image of a boy Jasor killed in his second year so long ago, with no known history yet who is recognized by certain members of staff who speak fondly of the boy with the flowery name.

Blood Bound, Bone Deep by VelStar
2 parts Ongoing Mature
Feyra has always known that her magic comes at a cost. Every time she heals, she takes the wound into herself-burning it into her skin, into her bones, into the scar over her heart that never truly fades. But pain is a small price to pay to protect the people she loves. Especially Mila-her best friend, her constant, her heart-sister. At the Academy, students train to bond with wyverns, master ancient magic, and survive the politics of bloodlines and power. But when Mila's shapeshifting demon heritage spirals out of control during a training trial, Feyra is forced to push her power further than she ever has before-nearly losing her life to pull Mila back from the brink. Now recovery is slow, the pain is unrelenting... and everyone has questions. Including Zeraph-the new third-year leader with a reputation sharp enough to cut. Stoic, disciplined, and carved from controlled fire, he believes Feyra's sacrifice was reckless. She believes he doesn't understand what loyalty means. And Zero-her closest friend and constant defender-has no intention of letting Zeraph dictate anything. But Feyra's scars are changing. Mila's demon forms grow harder to control. And deep beneath the school, in the old wyvern tunnels, something ancient has begun to stir-responding to Feyra's mark... and to the bond between them. Some magic binds. Some magic burns. Some magic was never meant to exist. And the price of saving each other may be becoming the very thing everyone fears.

Adelaide Ansel, a fierce and enigmatic first-year cadet, returns to Basgiath War College bearing a name long erased from history - a bloodline cursed and forgotten for over four centuries. She carries not just scars and mismatched eyes that unsettle those around her, but an arsenal of poisons, enchanted armour, and a deadly book of knowledge she authored in secret. The myth surrounding her scar is grand and fantastical, yet the truth is brutal and mundane - she was attacked without prophecy or cause, and it hardened her rather than broke her. Adelaide is calculated, rebellious, and unapologetically herself, refusing to hide her lavender hair or deny the ancient blood that flows through her. With wit and venom-laced charm, Adelaide verbally spars with Xaden and insinuates they may be related - a half-truth or an outright lie that shakes him to his core. She crosses the Parapet with deadly grace, claiming her place not just as a survivor, but as a reckoning for the history that tried to bury her. She quickly forms alliances with fellow cadets Ridoc and Sawyer, proving herself both humorous and dangerous - equally capable of loyalty and chaos. She is assigned to the Fourth Wing and settles into formation, Adelaide disrupts expectations and asserts her presence like a storm in human form - unrelenting, unpredictable, and unforgettable. Disclaimer || I used AI to create the Cover Image for this story as I can't draw to safe my life. Credits go to Rebecca Yarros as Fourth Wing belongs to her. I only own Adelaide Ansel Character and her Bonded. I'll try to keep the story inline with Violet's Timeline so that some events stay canon.

Isla Sorrengail has spent her life surviving in the shadows, sharpening her instincts like a blade. But Basgiath War College is not the kind of battlefield she was trained for. Here, brute strength means little without a dragon willing to bond, and power is earned through blood and strategy. No one knew she existed before she arrived-not the cadets glaring at her back, not the instructors watching her every move, not even the sister who should have known. But Isla is not here to make friends. She is here to claim what was stolen from her-her name, her family, her place in the world. But Basgiath is built to break the weak. And Isla? She has no intention of breaking. Even when rivals seek revenge. Even when her own past hunts her down. Even when the wingleader with shadows in his eyes-Xaden Riorson-watches her like he's trying to unravel her secrets. She will not falter. She will not kneel. She will not lose. Because Isla Sorrengail has already lost everything once. And she refuses to do it again.
