The union between humans of the mountains and the elemental dragons, with their breaths of lightning, fire or acid, is threatened by brewing violence.
As the stone city becomes rapidly less safe, human Kiara and bonded dragon Syraine search for isles of safety and sanctuary amongst the turmoil. As the pair is forced to confront some of the darker forces at work, both close to home and abroad, they may just discover the power to combat them.
