Sometimes, we refuse to see the light. Rather, do you say we cannot?

The raging 1970's. Within the depths of the soaring inflation, economic struggle and political upheaval is a time of utter devastation for a few. For Birdie Laurier, it is a time of silence. Struck mute since the age of twelve, the world is especially loud. Divorces, newspapers screaming felony, her parents arguing. Nobody really knows what happened to her. They believed it was shock, perhaps from an accident but the mystery behind her silence lies deeper than shown on the surface.

Future draws her closer to Sebastian Caddel, a deaf boy in an orphanage, destined for confinements for proper shelter. Life changes for him when he witness the death of Birdie's brother. Befriending him, gives her a clarity on a few matters she had left untouched. Secrets are spoken, lies revealed and tears are shed.

Situations occur, problems arise and what seemed to improve over time began to crumble. Like a fairytale castle in the sand. In a fairytale land.

Gone.

Dead. They whisper that Birdie Laurier is dead.

Dead roses on a dead body. . .
