Ashton Irwin isn't exactly happy in his life. He doesn't really remember the last time he was happy. All he knows is that it was a long time ago. There are few things Ashton loves dearly in the world. His drums, his camera, and his music. Everything else can just get out. His dad left his mom when Ashton was nine, although he couldn't remember why, and his mom was in denial about how sad Ashton really was. Ashton hated both his mom and dad equally. But more than them, more than any one else, Ashton hated himself. 

Ashton receives a photography project where he had to follow an art student around for a month, and capture him in daily life. Luke Hemmings just happens to be that art student. Luke Hemmings also just happens to have a thing for curly brown haired boys with dimples. Ashton just happens to be a curly haired boy with dimples. 

Or the one where Ashton is broken, and Luke tries to save him via photography project.
