Britanny Ventran arrives in Philippines, Cagayan de Oro, to undertake the seemingly impossible task of teaching deaf, blind, 7- year-old Cathy Bautista “language” through the sense of touch. The story focuses on the mother and the father of Cathy who struggles to draw Cathy out of her world but they choose to find a tutor enable for them to take off from the said burden and they have found the one who has the potential and this teacher really tried her very best to draw cathy out from her world of darkness and silence. Cathy has been able to communicate with her family except through physical temper tantrums since a childhood illness took her three senses from her. She is allowed to eat with her hands, knock over or breaking anything and basically do whatever else she desires. All of this while being looked at with pity by her family. Her family loves her but they are all convinced she is a dumb, with the intelligence of an animal that will never learn anything. She is barely pacified with candy when she throws a tantrum.
