Laire and Emeyrin became best friends when Emeyrin transferred to the school where Laire and his friends were studying. Ever since Emeyrin transferred, Laire and his friends immediately became her friends. The group were inseparable, sharing laughter, good and bad times, and also their secrets, but there is this one secret that she couldn't tell to them because their friendship would be ruined, especially Laire's and hers. Until senior high school's graduation came and Emeyrin gave up hiding her feelings towards Laire. The ache she'd been feeling every time she saw Laire and his girlfriend together was damn excruciating. It is killing her.
His treatment of her remained the same as his camaraderie, just like how it used to be. But she caught him throwing glimpses of her-a tender smile, a simple gentle touch-that made her wonder if maybe, just maybe, he feels the same way too. That the love she had for him was not one-sided.
She held on to those moments, but Laire did not return her love. She was broken. She flew to Spain to move on, but with each passing day, the more she loved him.
