Mia Sangster is what you call a regular pretty girl. Living in town called Furthermore her life was....simple. Until suddenly 6 females die. The only common thing that connects then is that their eyes are somewhat burned. This has her concerned till she has to face that situation herself.
Xavier Black is a high class demon apparently working under Paimon. He has a great sense of understanding and hence his opinions are highly considered in their territory. Every demon type has their own tactics as an advantage against other specie beings. His is eyes. Controlling through eye contact.

There is also bullying and controlling behaviour mentioned. Otherwise it's pretty PG within the book)
