She learns her parents have been keeping her adoption a secret on her twelfth birthday. With the aid of guidance, she is able to leave the violent privilege of her prior life and travel the real world to a new city where she must rely on adults to find her real parents and lead a better life. She sees the future with the assistance of her guardian angel, and she uses it to find what she's looking for. But Elora is unaware of how her life will be changed irrevocably by this journey of pursuing her own path.
