Prince Charming was destined to marry a beautiful maiden, to rule side by side until the day they died. He was not quite sure he liked this destiny, if only because of the maiden. Charming had never in his life met a woman who he fancied, and he'd been searching ever since his friends started getting crushes. He always just thought he'd just not found the right girl yet, even though the thought of loving, kissing, marrying, and making love with even the concept of a girl made him feel sick and disgusted. He'd been taught to think there was something wrong with anyone who did not fancy the opposite sex, so he kept it a secret whenever the sight of a handsome boy gave him butterflies, or when the gorgeous, brilliant guard Jameson made Charming want to press him to the wall and kiss him until he couldn't think straight. That was definitely forbidden, though. But the thing is, Charming was never really one for the rules.

Jameson Berkeley always knew he was gay. As a kid, he was teased for how feminine he dressed, and when he started developing crushes, they sure as heck weren't on girls. Jameson had had a celebrity crush on Prince Charming for as long as he could remember, so when he was offered a job as a palace guard at age twenty-two, the answer was easy.
