He got accepted into an experimental program that turned him into a super soldier. Everyone was amazed, including little Alexandria. He later finds out that the same organization that made him a super soldier, was also helping Nazis. Steve knew he had to stop them, to keep his country safe, his daughter safe, even if that meant crashing a plane into ice to do it.
