Fell through a portal and into the Tales of Arcadia world.
Just finishing the main plot of Trollhunters, (Y/n) and Vin are relieved to finally return home through the portal, but the portal had other plans. Now they are back in Arcadia, but back in time before the events of part 3 of Trollhunters.

(Y/n) and Vin are from modern times/ where the trilogy is a show. So yeah, they know the future.
