In a far future Earth, a molecular compound is discovered that revolutionizes the tattoo and body modification industry. It becomes the center of a global shift in social dynamics and civilization as people flock to this new ability to change themselves. It isn't just a picture on skin anymore, it's any part of you, in anyway you have the money to pay for, and it can be redone whenever for more money.
Amidst this 'change culture ' seventeen year old Quetzal discovers that he has the ability to change himself and that the change requires no monetary cost and requires no trip to the local modding parlor. Not only that but shortly after he discovers he can do this, he is tackled by a robotic construct that has been searching specifically for him. 
The same day he also receives a strange package in the mail that claims to make his abilities better.
Who has been watching him this closely and why does it seem like they already know way more about his new ability than he himself does?
