It is just a normal day in the life of 14 year old Lilly Collins, in fact, too normal. It's almost weirdly normal and calm, really. That is, of course, until she gets the notification that a new virus is spreading like wildfire in Kansas state. The school goes into lockdown, but it's too late, there are already infected ones lurking in the building. She manages to escape, but when she sees her home destroyed she runs as far as she can into the deeper parts of the town. On the way she meets a group, a group that has been trained their entire life if it comes to this situation again. They accept her in, and they all just try to survive. But they are all under the age of 16, in a big, scary world that is falling apart right in front of their eyes. They have to survive this alone, without parental- or any adult supervision. They can do it, they tell themselves, but can they really?
