Michael Jackson, a teenager growing up in Harlem, New York lives with his mother Katherine, older brother Jackie, and younger sister Janet. Life is not the easiest for them with Katherine being a single mother and Jackie having to drop out of school to help with supporting the family, but they're able to get by. That is until things quickly change one summer when Jackie is shot and killed. Suddenly, Michael is introduced into a world of drugs and money.
