Rose is in Love with her Professor, they met before she was in his class (you will find their love story in p2) Nathan is very powerful and rich but humble. He doesn't like that he has money. Well in a fight with his best friend Tyler. Tyler's Girlfriend dies, Tyler blames that on Nathan. Tyler wants to take away Nathan's everything, that being Rose. So In a bad head space Nathan asks the pilot to bring the plane down. However Tyler had paid the pilot before Nathan got there.
When Rose asks if her best friend Lola can come with on the plane Nathan doesn't know what to do. He says okay, he knows they both will die. He gives it away in a few chapters of his own in part one of the book. Well Rose survives the plane crash. And it broken from it, one day a year later Nathan find Rose. And tell her everything, she is horrified, she hates him. Her love for him goes away. As the book goes on she finds forgiveness. At the end they do end up together.
