Delusion arises soon'

Once upon some fleeting elusive thought captured within endless time.
Dreams come crashing upon walls where hopes once would find.
But now within this eternal maze revolving out of slim sight deferred.
Did it ever occur how foolish all must be to give a voice to insanity?
As if it had sheer wisdom though no intelligence could ever be perceived.
What sense does our electorate give us while they are lost within maze?
Of materialism and consumption's endless craze giving voice allegory in cave
Where shadows of blunder dance until they drop within each feckless flame
There hopes dissolve into futility's unspoken name echoing from dawn to night
With verbiage claiming logic where none is ever noticed no matter impolite
And when soon ballots are cast we will descend once more into darkness
How long will this pale be cast how long will this Dark Age forever last?
While each generation soon to follow will be tormented by such light defamed
Why must we be made to suffer through once more this quandary of disdain?
Soon we are promised as time passes it will come to be the light will be seen.
But until we sink once more into a darkness of our own design's betrayed dream
