A long history of peace is shattered when a string of murders shake the city of Tharglond to its core. Ethrael Agedrasi, a young elven guard, unwittingly catches the attention of a brutal killer during one unlucky night. In a race to restore order, he finds his efforts hindered both by his loved ones, and the very system their society has been built upon. When everything seems to be falling apart, the only hand that reaches out to help him, is that of his supposed enemy. He is forced to trust someone that clearly despises his people, and the line between right and wrong quickly becomes blurred.
