Aryn Ward lives a simple life with her brother in the Tusuoha Forest bordering Nazar. Barely getting by, their frequent visits to town don't go unnoticed by the sergeant of the Royal Legion.

Torn between keeping her identity a secret and finding out the mysteries that the soldier is holding, she is visited by an unwelcome stranger urging her to follow the Sergeant to the capital.

The whole of the Kingdom of Naevaria is under threat from rebels and the King intends to use Aryn as his secret weapon. But not everything is as it seems. Shackled and imprisoned, she has no choice but to bide her time and wait, but fate seems to have its own plans.
