I stare at him from across the room. Watching him with a bunch of girls. Wishing it was me. It’s a great party, but I only have eyes for him. Everyone else is dull compared to him. Then he looks at me. “Hey Skip!” he shouts over the music. “Need to talk!” He points to the back door. I just nod. I beat him to the door and walk out. Completely deserted. I don’t know why, It’s a pretty nice night.
Beau walks out onto the patio and stands next to me. “Hey Beau, watcha need?” I ask. He doesn’t know it, but I would do anything for him. I turn to face him.
“Nothing, I just want to say…” he stares at me for what seems like an hour, but I don’t have time to blink before he crashes his lips to mine. I tense up for an instant, then respond with all I have. This is probably a dare, so I’m going to make it count. Then he traces my bottom lip with his tongue, and I know that this is no dare. He pulls away, only to lean in towards my ear. “Happy Birthday Daniel.” He whispers. He walks back into the party. Like nothing happened. Like our lives aren’t changed forever. All Rights Reserved
