However, you don't have to know much about the game to jump in. This story follows an independent journalist named Miles Upshur who received an email from a whistleblower, Waylon Park, who worked at Murkoff Psychiatric Systems: Mount Massive. The hospital was supposed to be run as a charity, offering help to those who could not pay, or for those who other hospitals wouldn't accept. However, things weren't as they seemed and Murkoff was using the hospital as a cover for a laboratory where they were performing experiments on humans. The end result of such experiments was the creation of Project Walrider, a bio-nanite parasite that lives inside a human body. Miles stumbles into the facility during a security breach and riot. He manages to survive the night but in doing so becomes infected with the nanites, becoming the new host for Project Walrider. The Aftermath of Mount Massive is about Miles coming to terms with what being the Host means for both his humanity and future. But one day, he found out the hard way that the giant beasts are getting stronger and evolving. He soon realizes that in order to keep up his fight, he too must evolve. After a fight with a particularly strong beast, he sits and rests in a secluded forest, hoping to regain his strength and repair. But suddenly, he hears a small and feminine voice call to him. Or maybe those bastards had escaped perfectly unharmed, watching how the country was being destroyed. Maybe it was an excuse for overpopulation. xx-xx Karma has been trying to survive for over a year, but it's difficult when X's, mechanical killing machines, roam the streets, hungry for human flesh. Every day that passes by without finding a portal brings the morale lower. They need to escape the country before they all end up dead. It doesn't help that the X's have changed their tactics and are now manipulating people to commit suicide. The death rate keeps increasing, and Karma has to find out what family means, and to what extremes she would go to save the ones she loves.
