They won't break me. They don't own me. For the first time, I fully understand what Peeta Mellark said before our first Hunger Games. About proving to the capital we are more than a piece in their games. I will show them that tiny act of defiance, even if it is the last thing I do.

After all, I have known worse kinds of pain. Kinds that leave behind scars that no one other than me can see. Kinds that never seem to go away. Compared to that, the lashes on my back and the bruises on my body are nothing. Nothing at all. If anything, I should wear them like a crown.
