Little Alicia wasn't supposed to survive her birth at all, although she did it still costed her dearly. Being born with yellow eyes the townspeople link with the devil wasn't a good way to live, it didn't help when she was also born with a horrible condition that was the cost of her surviving birth that practically made her seem emotionless with feelings hidden deep down.
