Edward and Bernard

Stupid story because I can't get over a crush on my best friend.

1928, Louisiana. Bernard Green is a quaint boy, abused by his father who blames him for the fact that Bernard's mother died at child birth, his best friend is Edward Roscoe, a chatty and grinning boy from down the road with a drunkard father and a neglective mother. It's all fun and games until Bernard begins to feel an odd, fiery, passionate feeling about Edward, and it's a feeling that he is rather scared of.
