Keefe ran away after he found out about all of his new powers, but when he got to the forbidden cities, he got hurt and lost all his memories of the lost cities. His powers weren't needed so they didn't come out when he was talking. and he thought he was human after seeing humans and not remembering the lost cities or anything in them- including the people.
