Prince John is learning to be a knight, and who better to learn from than his famous older brother, the crown Prince? It's 1349 England, and for a nine year old boy serving as the Prince's Squire is the stuff that dreams are made of. Prince John is no exception, but he is far from ordinary. He prefers verbal duels to physical ones. Espionage, naval battles, and the usual amount of intrigue are about to ensue as John finds himself embroiled in the 100 years war.

Inspired by true events, based on John of Gaunt's knighthood training under Edward, the Black Prince of Wales.

Trigger/Content Warning: some brief peril, some mild profanity. Some suggestive dialogue. It is made clear teenage characters are having sex (nothing explicit). War and battle are discussed.

Medieval England - Year 1450: Eleanor was a poor shopkeeper's daughter whose only hope for a better life for herself and her family was to marry well. When she caught the eye of Thomas Fletcher, a royal courtier of noble blood, her family thought he was the answer to all their problems. Eleanor thought he was unattractive and rude, but she didn't have any better options as a poor commoner so she accepted his proposal. They just had to somehow convince King Henry that she was a suitable bride for Thomas so he would approve of their union, because marrying Thomas meant that she would join Henry's inner circle as a courtier. At just twenty three years old Henry had to take over as the King of England when his father passed away unexpectedly. On his first day presiding over the royal court, he was faced with a tough decision, should he approve Thomas' marriage to Eleanor, a commoner that he was almost certain was unfit to join his Royal Court? He decided the only fair way to decide was to have her stay at his castle for a week as his guest so he could see for himself if she had what it took to withstand the pressure of the life of a royal courtier. What King Henry didn't count on was the feelings that started to grow for that commoner throughout the week. She was already betrothed to someone else and even if she wasn't, a King could never marry a commoner. But he also couldn't ignore the growing need he felt inside to be with her, even if it would throw his country into a civil war and turn both of their lives upside down. He knew some things were worth fighting for. | 18+| Sequel to 'The Prince's Choice'| Newly crowned king and queen, William and Jade stand at the brink of war. Their union has enraged William's mother into not just leaving King Uldard but also joining her brother; king Rowan. William's uncle sees this as an opportunity to break an alliance between the two realms with the goal to take the throne from his nephew. A once peaceful union between two kingdoms, has been broken. King Rowan is out to claim the kingdom he thinks should have befallen him after his father died, soon after his sister's hand was given to King Uldard many years ago. However, after hearing about his nephew's choice in bride, and seen with his own eyes how the girl had won not just the whelp's heart, but also the people's, Rowan fears that this queen will ruin his plans on merging the kingdoms. After hearing of a secret Jade is carrying, and that she is the only thing keeping William grounded and not his old hotheaded self, Rowan knows that the only way to overthrow the young king is to rob him of the only thing that brings him joy; his queen. And in doing so, he hopes that his nephew will become unfit to rule and lose the support of the people. To succeed, Rowan must find a way to separate Jade from William before the usurper ruins his plan on uniting his own kingdom with his sister's. He just needs to find a way to do it without provoking the cold and ruthless part of William. Start: June 2020
