"Hi," I said, faintly, so the teacher wouldn't hear, "My name's Isolde. What about you?"
He seems shaken.
"I'm sorry, if I'm creeping you out. You don't have to answer. Sorry for disturbing you." I turn around to face the board again.
"Karter. With a K," he finally whispers, and after a pause, "Karter Adams."
I turn back and smile, amused.
"Hello, Karter-with-a-K Adams. It's nice to meet you."
"You too."
He looks flushed.
