3. Narrator (hint: it's an inanimate object) feels betrayed, used, and unable to move on after a 'romantic interaction'. First draft. Word count: 421.

He seemed rude and like he didn't belong. Meeting him went well, and she catches his eye. Going to school together and their families spending some time together causes them to grow closer. So close that things happen. What happens? Do sparks fly?

This short story is about the perspective of a woman named Niya who is the main character. Niya moved out of her old neighborhood away from her family and old friends, choosing new surroundings and a new life. Her family didn't give her much attention nor love when she was younger so it lowered her value for herself, including past experiences when she felt used to feeling more confident in herself and when socializing. She thinks that by moving, it'll be a new start for everything, maybe even hopefully meeting new people who can fulfill her loneliness, and do more. Sometimes, her sadness gets a hold of her and causes her to lack motivation sometimes, especially on preparing her new house. She enjoys nature and prayer quite a lot because it calms her down with the beauty of it. She got a bit used to most of her surroundings. She also dreams to become a cook, having a heavy passion for cooking food. Later on in the short story, She faces a terrible injury that needs to be taken care of by a professional. Without background information, after her injury heals, she needs to decide whether she wants to go back to her house or stay "home" ... was it really an inconvenience..?

"You should go to my mom's room when storms come. You can hide under the covers. She says it's ok for big boys to be scared sometimes." Noah holds his breath in a valiant attempt not to laugh. "Eh, baby, he's a bigger boy so, he braves the storms," I say to him. "But the sea is real big mom." His wide eyes look around the boat. The big blue sea goes on for miles in both directions, not a soul except for Noah, my son, my daughter, and myself. He's right it is lonely. The glass reminded me of my home, broken and in fixable, representing the pieces of our hearts after my mother died. suicide they said.
