Shadow, Leviathan, Mastermind, Flare, and Shyft are part of one of the strangest bands of teens the world has ever known, and here's why:
Shadow can make herself vanish in the blink of an eye.
Leviathan can control all things that contain water, including humans, with his mind, and can change the state of matter of water.
Mastermind is young, but his brain is a living computer that holds all of the world's information.
Flare can shoot flames from her hands and can control fires not made by her.
And finally, Shyft can turn into any type of living creature (including plants) that has ever existed.
After discovering each other at a comic book convention, the five "Abnormals," as they've come to call themselves, decide to use their powers for the same things everyone's favorite superheroes would; to defeat evil and (at some point) save the world!

The Unordinary
Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. I am working on rewriting this story and when I do there will be the trigger warnings in the correct places.) (small teaser.) No one sees me. I am a ghost. I brush against the wooden fence. No one will believe it was me who disappeared into a fence and appeared on the other side of school. I stare at my brother. He made eye contact with me, confirming my suspicions. We both saw it. (THIS IS A BETTER AND FIXED VERSION OF "THE INSTITUTION") What would you do, if you grew up in a hell hole of a place. Were only very few had these powers. Created to be weapons, slaves, and other things. Your only sole purpose. That's exactly what these guys have gone through. Shadow, Mephiles, Scourge, and Sonic. They grew up with each other. Shadow and Mephiles both being the eldest at age 18((Later being 19)At least they think they are.) Scourge being 17 and Sonic the youngest at 16 and a half. All of them have been out multiple times, only to cause trouble or something happeing to their masters. They do not know much of the outside world, as they were not allowed to be taught. All of this changes when a girl named Laura, at the age of 20, picks up two of the guys. Not much is known about her past, but something happens.. She found no relief from it, maybe because she had no happy memories to find solace in, nor anyone to find comfort in. And yet, Amber could be the catalyst to setting a series of events that had been prophesied centuries before, into motion, bringing together three more people – the embodiments of the Emblems – to bring magic back to life. But in this underlying world of Adepts, Demons and secrets within secrets, unlocking their potential will be harder than you think. ~^~^~^~^~^ So, this is my 2014 Nanowrimo story, which is basically an attempt to rewrite Phoenix, where it shall go through major changes in plot, characters as well as effects of my new-and-improved writing style. Everyone has a story...mine is a little different than yours. 15 years ago i was put into this facility because i showed a sign that I wasn't normal. I've been in this hell hole since i was 2. I'm seventeen now and i feel alone and helpless. Well I did feel like that until my hero broke in with other people and saved me from my torture. Roxi has been through hell and back. She may look normal with killer looks with black hair and blue eyes. But Roxi is far from normal. She has the power of telekinesis, the ability to transport anywhere, telepathy, and she yet to discover more. Her powers are unlimited, but will she ever learn how to control them?Complete
