Magical beings are the ruling class in this universe. Governments are run by them. Those without powers are considered useless, second class citizens and generally live in poverty. There is a single source of power for the entire realm, however no one knows exactly what it is. One day, the power source is taken over by dark forces. They cast a spell on the source that uses the power of anyone who tries to touch it against them.
The magical beings must now rely on the "non-magic" folk they have ridiculed for generations. They are the only ones who can save the world from this darkness.
