"what are these?" he asks, pulling out the small mason jar filled with my hobby out of my backpack's middle pocket where I thought no one would see them.

"paper stars. some people take a nap to relax, others get a massage. I make paper stars." I mumble looking down.

tyler twists off the lid and takes out a single star. he fingers it between his index and middle finger and stares at them. for a second I could swear I heard him whisper 'they're beautiful' but it could've been the wind. it was, after all, a chilly autumn day.

he puts the small and insignificant star back inside the glass jar, and twists the lid shut. places it on my hand, his fingers grazing softly over the skin of my palm.

"I'll see you around, angel." tyler grins before running off to meet the shouts of his friends. I felt relieved that he left and didn't push further about the stars.

that way, he couldn't see the small, yet important messages I wrote on the pieces of paper, before folding them up into stars.

A Maybank and A Cameron? It's almost like a modern Romeo and Juliet. It's forbidden for them to be together. Could be the end of the world. The stolen glances, the hidden feelings, the unspoken words, the secret meetings and the obvious hatred towards each other followed by constant conflicts and some hidden past that threatened them but there are always invisible strings tied and pulling them together no matter how hard the tides trying to pull and part them away from each other.
