Two years after a deadly war with the Snake Kingdom, the grand Kingdom of Celestia has been restored. Our beloved hero, Albedo Aria, has officially become the Acting Grandmaster and brought Celestia to prosperity. But right as they reach the height of this prosperity, an unexpected turn of events occurs. Arvan, a longtime ally Kingdom to Celestia, is ravaged by overseas invaders known as "The Twilight Covenant" - a mass collective of Kingdoms and Guilds brought together as one group. The Arvanians, proud and vengeful, seek shelter and unity in Celestia, hellbent on destroying the Covenant that took their home. But the Covenant has plans for peace in Celestia, claiming they seek the same artifact the Snake Kingdom fought over so that they can use its power to attain world peace. But it isn't long after hearing this that Albedo discovers a crucial detail. The artifact is a vessel for evil, and though its power is tempting, opening it may very well lead to the end of the world. Because of this, the artifact was hidden away so that it could not bring any destruction. Yet there remains those who seek it, believing its power will grant them any wish. But if they find and unlock it, then the world shall be consumed by the demonic power within. Entangled in the crossfire between Arvan and The Twilight Covenant, Albedo does not wish to make the same mistake Celestia did with the Snake Kingdom. She does not wish to return to war over the artifact, believing that it will only lead to more conflict in the future. And so, partnered with her lover, Melusine Kei, and her sister, Asami, she begins seeking a way to end the conflict peacefully, and to stop the conflicts surrounding the artifact once and for all.

Ariadne refuses to become the perfect little wife for some rich noble, so why not try and be an assassin? Ariadne Thatcher was raised to be the ideal wife and mother. From the age of six, her mother gradually transferred her responsibilities to her daughter, claiming that it was training for her future married life. Meanwhile, her father, a guard in the royal army, never questioned why his young daughter was taking over all the cooking and chores that her mother used to handle. Ariadne's younger brother, Finian, who was five years younger than her, was carefree and often caused problems that she had to clean up. One day, Ariadne's mother came home and happily announced that she had found the perfect match for her: a young noble eager to marry. It was clear that her mother was essentially trying to sell her to this noble. If Ariadne married him, her family's social standing would greatly improve, and they would likely receive a substantial dowry. Ariadne refused to be treated like cattle. However, when her mother insisted that she meet Lord the next day, she reluctantly agreed. The Lord she encountered was a monster who desired her for her body and was determined to take what he wanted, regardless of her consent. She managed to escape and ran away, resolved never to look back. Her childhood friend, Evangeline Ashwood, lived in a nearby village, so she decided to travel there. During her journey, she would meet a man named Thorne Whitlock, to whom she felt an inexplicable attraction that she was unwilling to acknowledge. However, when she discovers that his profession is that of an assassin, she seizes the opportunity to learn from him. She is determined not to be helpless in the face of danger. Ariadne will take her destiny from the god's and transform it with her own hands. She would never accept the role of a submissive wife meant only for breeding like an animal Book 1 of The Ashen Reign Series
