HFC connections utilize the existing cable tv technology. Similar to other types of nbn connection, here also an optic fibre line leads to a nearest available fibre node to your street, from where a coaxial cable is connected to your wall socket. If you are choosing the HFC type of nbn connection then you have to install a separate line for each service, when you choose multiple services for your phone and for other internet services.
