When Emily Prentiss returns to DC after Ian Doyle dies, something seems to be missing from her life. DC had always felt whole, but now there is a hole missing.
Not far away is a girl with a not so perfect life. Nellie, a girl whose luck and timing have seemingly always placed her in harm's way or giving her the short straw of the stick, is at a loss.
When the BAU team picks up a new case in DC, Emily and Nellie find their paths crossing. Chances, trust, and a whole lot of unforeseen events seem to bring them back together. What will happen as the case progresses, finishes, and life pushes to move on?
